The Environment Act 2021

The Environment Act became Law in England in November 2021

It sets clear targets which are statutory for a recovery in the natural world. There are formal new targets to reverse the decline in species abundance by the end of 2030, increase biodiversity and improve air quality, water and waste management.

The Office for Environmental Protection ('The OEP') has been established to protect and improve the environment by holding government and public authorities to account.
